About Lydia

Growing up amongst nature’s bounty in Yorkshire inspired Lydia’s affinity with plants, their aromas and healing powers from an early age.

Lydia later moved to London, where her aromatic adventures continued with roles working in luxury perfumery and Neal’s Yard Remedies, alongside a blossoming career in music.

During a challenging personal time, Lydia was recommended to try Aromatherapy Massage as a form of holistic support and felt immediately encouraged by its transformative and therapeutic effects. From that time on, Lydia felt inspired to help others experience the healing benefits of Aromatherapy and to find balance in our non-stop modern world.

Taking a leap of faith, Lydia decided to learn the art and science of Massage and Aromatherapy and went on to study at the Neal’s Yard Remedies School of Natural Health in Covent Garden, London.

Following her training Lydia was drawn back to the countryside and moved to the South West where she founded Botanic & Remedy.

With over 5 years of experience working within the world of natural health and practising as a Clinical Aromatherapist, Lydia has gained a unique set of skills and knowledge that she is passionate about sharing. Alongside Aromatherapy, Lydia is a huge advocate of herbal remedies, natural skincare and self-care practises, all of which she enjoys sharing information about with her clients to help support their health outside of the Therapy Rooms.

Lydia’s practice offers a calming, safe and healing space which centres around a holistic and intuitive approach. Her area of particular interest lies in supporting mental health and the idea that we can use Aromatherapy to empower and improve our wellbeing naturally. Lydia strongly believes in the nurturing power of touch and its ability to calm the nervous system and create equilibrium in the body, mind and spirit.

Botanic & Remedy is based at the Neal’s Yard Remedies ‘Therapy Rooms’ in Exeter, Devon. Lydia is a member of the International Federation of Professional Aromatherapists (IFPA), which ensures the highest standards of safety and professional practice.

“I’m so glad I found Lydia in the first half of my pregnancy. Being a physiotherapist I’m not really a fan of people massaging me - I’m a little on the fussy side!

I was recommended Lydia by a pregnant friend and so I booked an appointment. That was the single best massage I’ve ever had.

Lydia is warm, welcoming, her knowledge of essential oils is incredible and each time I go she makes a different blend to cater for my needs whatever they may be...”

“...I put my complete trust in Lydia throughout my pregnancy and always came out of my massage feeling like a new person.

She even made me my very own blend of essential oils for my labour!

I cannot recommend Lydia enough; she brightens my day and has helped me so much. When my daughter had a cough keeping her up at night, Lydia advised me which oils to put in our diffuser to soothe her to sleep. I feel incredibly lucky to have met Lydia - she truly is wonderful.”
